I weave not only replicas and historical patterns, but most of you know that. Here's an example I'd probably categorize as neo-folk. Belt for so called "Slavic gymnastics". I guess the motif has a meaning but for me personally it's just an ornament. Still I replicated it from the drawing as close as possible. And that required some combinations.

The belt needed to be white with only the symbol in red so I went for brocade. It was made of hemp and linen (vegan option) and to make it drape nicely and tie up easily I made the most as 2/4 missed hole weave only adding warp up to 4/4 threading in the ornament section. Surprisingly reducing it back to 2/4 was far easier.

Most probably I made an unnecessary complications but it was a fun experience (excluding sneezing hemp fluff for following week 🤧)

Change of pace.
I'm on workation in the countryside that have been somehow forced upon me as my kitchen is under huge overhaul. That mean I have an opportunity to experiment with all that wool I got two weeks ago.
First thing I learned that you should not scour it in cold water. It's just pointless.
Well... You live - you learn.

Let's continue the Slavic theme
This set of bands isn't perfectly accurate for 10th century southern Poland but "will do". Sometime it's all about balance between historical sources and client's demands.

As far as all three sides (that includes @amictus.gabriela) of this project I think it's OK :)
